Job Description

The Platform Engineering team seeks a Technical Project Manager (Scrum Master) who will need to:

  • Work directly with the team, where he or she advises and supervises efficiency in accordance with the values, practices, and processes of agile methods.
  • Together with team leaders, the Scrum Master supports the work of the team, helps with the backlog grooming and facilitates agile ceremonies, such as daily Scrum, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Observes team's work and continuously searches for improvement areas to help the team achieve higher levels of efficiency.
  • Serves as a champion for Scrum and Agile, but can adapt these principles to accommodate constraints and maximize already successful processes.

The Technical Project Manager (Scrum Manager) will be responsible for coordinating Agile teams in the following practices - writing user stories, release and iteration planning, test driven development, continuous integration, Scrum methodologies, velocity and capacity planning, and retrospectives. Identifies and manages dependencies with other internal or external teams. Provides metrics and status to team leaders and senior department management. This role requires someone who is an effective communicator and loves organizing workflows and projects

Responsibilities
  • Provide Technical Project Management expertise across teams, using Scrum and Kanban project methodologies.
  • Work directly with team members on activities that include: release planning and value stream mapping.
  • Drive project timelines and road mapping while ensuring projects align to department and corporate goals
  • Assisting with internal and external communication while maintaining/improving transparency of information. This includes tracking and preparing project/program related reports (i.e., velocity metrics, portfolio reports, weekly program status reports, budget reports, etc.)
  • Guide the team on Agile principles and values, ensures that all agile related processes and standards are being adhered to within the team.
Requirements
  • Certified Scrum Master, strongly preferred
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience using Agile or other project management methodologies, required
  • 3+ years' of experience using Agile methods, strongly preferred
  • 5+ years' experience preferred in both software development, development management and/or project management experience
  • Experience related to functional/business process configuration tasks
  • Ability to identify approaches, risks, mitigation strategies to meet client/functional requirements
  • Candidate must possess knowledge across general infrastructure functions and have a strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills are a must, as is the ability to work at his/her own direction and balance competing priorities and customer needs
  • Team player, energetic personality, quality minded, focused, committed, able to work independently in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Data and Metrics Driven
  • Strong background with the use of project management tools (Atlassian/Jira a plus).
